GREAT STRAIT RAFT RUN
A raft run like no other which is held annually on the majestic waters of the Menai Strait. The spectacular backdrop of Snowdonia’s mountains and the Isle of Anglesey’s natural beauty contribute to the uniqueness of this fun and challenging day of rafting and raising money for good causes.
Starting from the old slate port of Felinheli rafts proceed past historic Plas Newydd and on towards Porthaethwy (Menai Bridge). En route passing beneath the iconically spectacular engineering and structural feats that link Anglesey to the mainland - the Britannia and Menai bridges, built by Robert Stephenson and Thomas Telford; and navigating the notorious and occasionally demanding Swellies.
A day of endeavour and fun in aid of charity and local good causes.
Last year, the Glan Gwna raft managed to finnish in 13th place, out of a total of 29 taking part.
